Pluto. Asteroid, planet or comet?

Post by AGMI »

Pluto is the smallest major planet in the solar system but mercury used to be considered the "real" size for a major planet (about 3000+km) And 1ceres is the largest size for an asteroid(680km?) But PLUTO lies In between(1400+km) so which side does it incline to;planet or asteroid?
or Mesoplanet?(meso in greek means intermediate)

like what you said, mercury used to be the lower limit of planet size, now it's pluto.
As for Sedna, it's a planetoid and it will probably remain that way but if you guys remember, Channel 8's 10pm news called Sedna a planet, i think the misconception starts from here. Well, the IAU was pretty much silent on Sedna, isnt it?
As for Issac Asimov, i dunno about him, his books sounds as thought they are probably a cross between fiction and non-fiction, i am not sure about them cos i nvr read his books, correct me if i am wrong.
