NUS/NTU Astronomy Challenge

Post by NGC 5139 »

Hello all,

I would like to ask a few questions about the NUS/NTU Astronomy Challenge. My friends say that it is a very prestigious competition to stretch the abilities of budding astronomers. Also, I heard that it is usually in June.

1. When would it be held this year?
2. What should a participant expect?
3. What is the duration of the competition?

Thank you and have a nice day :).

Regards

i'm surprised someone asked. from wat i know it will be held during the 7th and 8th of june. which is roughly 1 week from now. however, neither of my sides have receive any invition. i'm not sure if they are going to be inviting poly this year, or are they even inviting anyone.

i have only taken part in it once, among the jc/poly level, so i can't really tell u wat is the sec sch lvl like. there's both theory and observation involved during the year which i took part in.

BLEH! You guys haven't receive the invitation?!?!!?!?!?

My school received the letter like... March??? Or at least i remember it was months ago. But at that time there was no details, just the dates, 7th and 8th. A few weeks back we just received the details... Quite long to explain if you ask me.

Try to make contact with NUS-NTU now. In fact, my school has recently sent some emails to them asking them some other details about the competition, so i think contacting them now is still possible.

First day is at NUS, second day at NTU. Rules are roughly same as last year, but there are a few additions...

Another question, who here will be attending the competition as a participant or a spectator or even a judge/quizmaster? Just curious to find out who i'll be seeing there.

nope, neither rp nor np have received anything, so i guess that's 2 lesser competitor in the jc/poly scene.
