I just want to share with you my experience with James Grigar, owner of Astroky Piers and truss dobs.
Recently, I emailed him to enquire about his dobs. As with most custom dobs builders (Pete Smitka, Ed Taychert, Sam Johnsonian, etc) his response has been prompt and helpful. Unfortunately, at around the same time, his house has been hit by Hurricane Rita and he was force to evacuate.
Even during his evacuation, this guy actually used Astromart's PM to maintain contact with me! The only place that has internet then was a library and he goes there just to send PM to me and a few others. Also, to check for our replies. Considering that his hearing is impaired, I guess it must have been difficult for him to get around during those chaotic evacuation moments yet he took the trouble to do that just to maintain contact!
I have deal with many scope manufacturers over the years, but this guy really takes the cake.
