5 or 6 inch achromat refractor performance
Has anyone of you used a 5/6 inch achromat refractor before? How does the sharpness compare with SCT or reflector of similar aperture (ignoring the chromatic aberration)? Also, has anyone used the violet reduction filters to help minimize the violet halo and how does it perform on such achromats?

I think we will have to wait for WX 120mm. I will be very interested to try them out.Canopus Lim wrote:Has anyone of you used a 5/6 inch achromat refractor before? 6 inch refractor
Performance of 6 in refractor.
I have a 6 inch Celeston refractor and the sharpness and contrast of images is a shade better than SCTand SN . On bright images of planets the CA is present, but by using VR (I think the one I got is minus violet, not sure) filter the CA reduduces to a tolerable level.
Unfortunately so far I did not get any suitable opportunity for imaging using my C6.
