I think the new WO 132mm F/7 APO should be around the same price (US$3000), and Taiwan is definitely much nearer than Gyor, Hungary :-)

Hmm... So their 132mm F7 APO will going to be cheaper than their FLT 110mm APO OTA.

Have a nice day.

The FLT lenses were sourced from TEC while the new APO lenses I think will be manufactured in Asia.

Another one from WO Yahoo forum:

>Hi John,

>quantity).we need more time for our new design tube.
>We want to take pre-order with 1/2 deposit.

>Daniel will make an offical announcement of pre-order by earlier 2006.

I hope William or Daniel can confirm this.

I am in touch with Mr Gyulai from GPU and hopefully will see some of his samples end of this month. Will keep everyone posted.

Another difference between GPU and WO is the business model. GPU customizes the lens and OTAs with each customer individually when you order.

Cheers!

The one they have now is 127/1200, not 127/1000.
IMO, f/8 is a sweet spot for 5" apo. At f/8, it is definitely a planetary scope while still allow you to frame (almost) the entire M31 using 41mm Pano.

Arief - According to Mr Gyulai, the price of the 127/1000 will be similiar to 127/1200. However, production date has not been decided yet.

Cheers!
