Blurness through 6x30mm finderscope

Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

Blurness through 6x30mm finderscope

Post by ovc17m »

Was using my telescope last night for obing at my house, but realised i can't make out the stars thru my attached finderscope. The stars look diffuse and can only make out the brighter ones...

I checked and there's no dew or dust on my lens... what could be the possible reason?

Advise pls

what finder do you have? some finders need to be focussed.
try turning head or eyepiece. if not, you may need to loosen the assmebly to focus....

Most of the skywatcher-type finderscopes have a fixed eyepiece. You will need to loosen the retaining ring around the objective assembly and screw/unscrew the assembly to focus.

Once it is in focus, tighten the retaining ring.

I suspect that it is a "black out" in which u position ur eyes directly adjacent to the finder eyepiece. Neglecting the issue of Eye Relief, thus it causes some blurness. Or maybe you are squinting to hard into the finder, visual fatigue.
