Pentax Websites

Post by Airconvent »

I'm very curious.
Recently, I got interested in pentax eyepieces after seeing rlow's life purpose to collect the entire pentax range.. but the websites either mention only a few models or not at all. Any idea why this is so? Is there a definitive website that provide details on the entire range pentax eyepieces, past and present ?

Have a nice day.

But be aware that not all Pentaxes are the same... it's not a scaled design strictly. Which means some do not perform as well as others, for example in terms of field curvature. For more info, please search in Cloudynights 'eyepiece' Forum.

There is also a thread there on collecting eyepiece 'sets'.

Cheers!

Thanks WX/Andrew...the translation needs work.

Seems despite its reputation as a Nagler challenger, Pentax don't seem to be marketing their eyepieces very aggressively outside of Japan. I can only surmise from the specs the "W" is for wide, the "O" for Ordinary and the "P" for planetary? :-)

Hi all,

Just my guess, I think they stand for :

XL- Xtra Large
XW- Xtra Wide
XO- Xtra Ordinary
XP- Xtra Planetary

Hi,
My guess is that "O" is for observation and "P" is for Photographic or Projection.

Have a nice day.

Haha! Airconvent has a great sense of humour! But I am not trying to collect the whole Pentax range lah... though I have two other eyepiece collections. :)

thanks robert for the link...
I would suspect the "O" stand for orthoscopic....more logical...
