Tampines Model Airplane Flying Ground Quick Survey

Post by weixing »

Hi,
Yesterday night went to the inner part of the Tampines Mountain Bike Trail for a quick survey which is actually a Model Airplane Flying Ground. The sky was not good... it was very hazy.

The site is not so convenient... there is no bus stop near by and you need to walk 300m or so to reach the site from the main road and I think not so safe for individual observer.

The site was quite "bright"... I think this is the result of a dark site near light pollution as your eye start to dark adapted and you'll see the light pollution easily. Also, I think the haze in the sky was reflecting the light pollution causing the site to look "brighter" than it should be. By the way, the only building that you can see is those at the North of the site, but there are area where trees will block those building. The attachment is a image of constellation Orion I taken there and from the Mosque site for comparison.

Anwyay, the Tampines Mountain Bike Trail is quite a big area if you look at the map and I think they are now expanding the outer part of the trail as you can see a lots of lorry is moving around. See the below link for more information:

Have a nice day.
