Hi, i was there during my R&R. Don't recall seeing any telescope shops. I even tried to find their Taiwanese astronomy magazines in every major bookstore but they don't seem to exist unfortunately....

Go to William Optics at Da Lien (north Taipeh). Look for this guy called Paul Zaika. He is a wonderful sales guy. Tell him that Vincent from Spore recommend you to him when you are there.

He will treat you nice.

just a point to note Taiwan is not like Singapore...take a bus and MRT and you're there. some places need you to travel for hours using different modes of transport. are there william optics outlets all over taiwan?

Hi,
Been there for 3 exercises. Been to all the malls, walked all the streets, seems to me that the there is virtually no sign of any astro activity/shops there in Kao Hsiong.

Well, if you are in Zuo Ying then remember to visit the 'Tian Bu La' stall along the hawker street!

haha,
reminds me of those days where the 'xiao mi feng' vans always knows where the ex is held. You might never know they might be the spies during atec..haha..
the food from these vans are the real killers in the field man.. the 'ji pa'(chicken steak with spice), carrot cake + egg, burger, nuo mi fan(glutinous rice) with sausage... oh my, yummy..
ok, back to the topic... :D
