I'm not sure how many of you listen to classical music and have heard of Gustav Holst's The Planets, but I was pleasantly surprised that the Peabody Concert Orchestra has the whole suite available for download here:

I've been listening to it and it's quite wonderous music. Scroll down to find it. There's lots of other great stuff as well such as Handel's messiah and the nutcracker suite. Enjoy!

I had the CD since my poly days...great!
I especially like Jupiter..the music was so grand it reminded me of the background music when the late President Ong Teng Cheong made his final journey as President around the National Stadium during his farewell NDP.

all the songs took ages + ages + ages to download... (>_<) and when I play, the music are sooooooo soft....
The music are all very nice, but are too soft (esp. Neptune). A few of them reminds me of "Star Wars"... (*_*)
Guess I prefer Mercury, Neptune & Venus. Those less "grand" and less "Star War" type...
How come there's no Pluto...? They drop Pluto dat fast?

Pluto was not discovered yet when Holst composed "The Planets"...klutz wrote:all the songs took ages + ages + ages to download... (>_<) and when I play, the music are sooooooo soft....

odd huh? My uncle used to have an old 1920s Encyclopaedia collection which lists the Solar System as having 8 planets!
