Yes I agree with Sinhoe that it is a great fantastic idea but unfortunately it will never materialise in Singapore....

I remembered during Comet Hale Bopp's peak appearance some skyscrapers in Tokyo cooperated with the local astronomers to switch off their entire building lights.
I doubt it helped much. But it was a nice gesture!

Quite pointless to try in SG right now. No light but still got a layer of smoke from Indon forest fires blanketing the skies.

Overall a good attempt to get people to enjoy the night sky.

There is something singapore can do.

Open up a small corner at P.Tekong during weekend for stargazing. Best with a "red light" mamak stall selling teh tarik and prata... am I dreaming??

For those rarely-used roads in the ulu areas of Singapore, perhaps those auto-sensor lamp posts could be installed...?

Wonder if any SingAstronomers would be "astro-hardcore" to visit Iceland so as to experience this 1st hand... :)
