Anyone interested to have an event in Temasek Polytechnic

Post by IceAngel »

Hi astro members, I'm one of the main committees in Temasek Poly Engineering Stdies Club.. I would like to organise an overnight observation session in one of the nights in Temasek Poly around march.. I'm asking is there anyone who is interested to bring equipments down to show my Engineering students what is astronomy.. 8)

As I know TP is the only sch which dun have an astronomy club (I'm very sad about that :( ), i would like to give them an opportunity to be exposed to astronomy.. I can organise the place and people whom are interested in TP.. All you have to do are just to bring down equipments and explain to them.. thats all... I will be limiting the amount of TP students to 50 ppl.. is that enough or u all need more?? :D

I really like to have some supports from singastro.. :)

Thank you *bow* :D

Sounds good, at least for Fri or Sat nites :) I will bring either my Portaball or refractor along. It will be good to schedule the event for a nite when the moon will be visible (except for a full moon of course) so that there will be something to see even if the sky is partially cloudy.

hah hah...near my house...good! I heard TP has a very dark observation site as long as the lights are off but from experience, our area tend to be more cloudy than the rest of singapore :-(
if the schedule is right, I can be there with my ETX90...

cheers

Wah cc bring his portaball! Iceangle during march there will also be the 2 comets! Too spread astronomy in your sch and maybe even get you school to setup an astro club, maybe you should get some of the lecturers down and get more people!

I'm more then happy to bring my doesnt look like telescope telescope down 8) . Maybe i can get sp astronomers can go down as well. Do let us know when ya going to organise the event.

eh halo, I am from TP too! I am from sch of business but i m going to make the switch to engineering school soon cos it is related to astrophysics anyway (Hope I can make it)But I am just starting out as a newbie stargazer and I joined this forum not too long ago. Yes, it is really sad that TP doesnt have an astro club. I would be glad to join but only after I have confirmed the switch to engineering sch, if not, i gonna withdraw. Remember to invite me along and I will only be there to listen! Thanks! :)
