Saturn 16thJan2007

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

Saturn 16thJan2007

Post by chrisyeo »

My lousy attempt at saturn from last night:

(ETX90, 3xbarlow, creative webcam, registax)

but it's interesting to see how the perspective of the ring has changed over the past 2 years..

Hi chris, don't be discourage...i think it is quite good, you get to see the cassini ring...:)

this is probably the best you can do using creative webcam ccd...

To me, this is a good attempt already. :D Maybe it is the webcam + the high power barlow you are using that forms a not so desirable image you were expecting?

Didn't you have a Toucam Pro when you took one of your photos last year? I thought it produces better images than a Creative webcam?

Haha,, I'm quite happy with the result already.. :)

It's not the webcam. The webcam is good; it's just the limit that my 90mm telescope can go. I wasn't expecting any better image. :) I've only ever had a creative webcam. There was once that I took an image of Jupiter with a Toucam but that was Lee's at the observatory.

Perhaps someone would like to lend me a Toucam to see the difference on my etx90? ;)

Boothee, The image was a stack of 300 frames.

Cheers,
Chris
