Hi,
The change in the new counter-weight is minor... the locking screw is change to a "single piece" screw instead of the old "short screw + short metal rod" which can lost it (short metal rod) easily for new user if they unscrew until the locking screw came out. Anyway, the new counter-weight can still be used on the GP mount, so I guess the old counter-weight can also be used on the new GP2.
Have a nice day.
What do you mean?? Do you mean that the GP2's counter-weight shaft can "shorten" more than the GP counter-weight shaft??And new design of a counterweight and a cw shaft. You can slide a cw further.

Weixing, the GP2 counterweight can extend a little further compared to the original GP. Meaning the counterweight can go below the shaft stopper for about 1". It is hard to explain, but if you see it, you will know what I mean.
Basically by allowing the weight to extend further, you tend to be able to balance using slightly lesser weight. Same idea as in using a longer shaft.

Hi,
Anyway, I got all 3 type (1.9kg, 2.8kg and 3.7kg) of old GP counter-weight and the new 3.7kg counter-weight and IMHO, this "feature" is most obvious in the 3.7kg counter-weight... the rest of the counter-weight small stopper hole is too shallow.
Have a nice day.
Hmm... You mean the shaft hole in the counter-weight got two diameter, a outer bigger hole and a smaller hole inside the counter-weight?? So that the counter-weight stopper will only stop by the smaller hole inside the counter-weight?? I checked my old GP counter-weight, it got the same "feature". Although I don't have the old counter-weight stopper because my counter-weight stopper is a self-made version, which is bigger than the original counter-weight stopper... too big to made use of this "feature", but I think the old GP counter-weight stopper should be able do the same unless it is a lot bigger than the new counter-weight stopper.Weixing, the GP2 counterweight can extend a little further compared to the original GP.
