Most of the people here bought it brand new from Cathay for around $220+.
But stocks are unpredictable so do call and check with them.
I think Alan Photo in SLS used to stock them also but I did not see any of late.
Alternatively, make Kay Heem an offer he cannot refuse and maybe he will sell his to you!

ps. I can't decide if this should be in the buy-sell or here but in the interest of allowing people to share their "lobangs" (good deals), I will leave it here-Mod

Actually I don't feel this mount head is particularly friendly for astro purposes.

it's a relatively cheap "alt-azm head" good for quick setup for viewing at home

Good mount with slo-mo control for smaller scopes e.g. C5, 80-90mm short refractors etc. Not suitable for long scopes.

Sorry, I am not selling as I need it :-)

got it in cathay for 185 last time! it is a fine head, as long as you don mind turning knobs being a little stiff. Stiffness varies from sample to sample though.

This used to be the workhorse for Singatroians.
The slomo controls are very convenient. For some strange reason, Manfrotto has made the controls to stiff. Otherwise its a good mount for lighter scopes.

But once aperture fever caught on and people are upgrading to bigger "light collectors" many decided to forsake it for large mounts. So that is why there are 2 groups here; those that remember the mount fondly and those who think it cannot make it for them.. guess which group I am in?...heh heh

IMO it is not suitable for astro use due to the stiff and jerky motion, and scope balance that keeps getting out of whack when you change elevation.

There are a number of affordable purpose-made astro mounts these days, so its time to progress and move on :) E.g. the Vixen Portamount: it makes observing more comfortable, and don't necessarily cost more once you factor in the cost of a good tripod. Or can also consider the Microstar mount.
