The 2" visual back should have the compression ring to hold the diagonal or any accessory down really tight and firm.

Why do you need this item? In the first place, most 2" visual back is for 10" SCT and above. I have not seen a 2" visual back for 8" SCT and below simply because the hole opening itself is less than 2".

Even if you can find this, this item will not be secure enough to clamp a 2" diagonal and a DSLR camera. Furthermore, you have a 2" eyepiece also.

What you should get is a 2" SCT diagonal with SCT thread to screw onto the 6" SCT back. This will be dead firm because it's a screw-on. If you want to do prime focus, get a T-adaptor, screw onto the back of the SCT and then mount a T-ring on the T-adaptor

SCT <-- T-adaptor <-- Canon EOS T-ring <-- DSLR camera

OR if you want to use the 2" eyepiece

SCT <-- 2" SCT diagonal <---2" eyepiece <--- DSLR camera

Forget about that 2" visual back.

Hmm I have used a 2" visual back with an 8" SCT without problems leh... The advantage is that you dont have to go buy a 2" SCT diagonal if you already have a standard 2" diag.

I'm also currently using a 2" VB with my 8" SCT. Like what's been said, I can use all the 2" accesories I currently have.

I doubt that visual back can hold a 2" diagonal, a 2" eyepiece, a Canon DSLR plus the camera holder. Especially considering the shape of the DSLR. During movement of the mount, I am sure the diagonal will slip no matter how strong you clamp the diagonal using that one small screw on the compression ring

Why want to take the risk epsecially when you have a DSLR there?

Oh wow that's quite a load... I was thinking of 2" diagonal and 2" beer-can sized eyepieces only... Better be careful then.

IMHO, you don't need a 2" diagonal even you do eyepiece projection. The 2" diagonal will just add more aberration to your image.

For prime focus:
SCT <-- SCT to 1.25"/2" adapter <-- 1.25"/2" T-Adapter <-- T-Ring <-- DSLR
or
SCT <-- SCT to T-Thread <-- T-Ring <-- DSLR

For eyepiece projection:
SCT <-- SCT to 1.25"/2" adapter <-- 1.25"/2" T-Adapter <-- 1.25"/2" Eyepiece Projection Adapter with eyepiece <-- DSLR
