EVA foam sheet degrade with age

Just to notify others who may be using the same material as it's cheap $2 dewshade cover for small scope and finderscope.

I was moving and cleaning my setup after a few years of inactivity ,
to my surprise the eva foam sheet flake out tiny particles on my table and fingers , washing and scrubbing doesn't help , must throw.
Around 8-9 years since I bought it from popular bookstore.
