Comet Watch '03/'04

Hi all,

There'll be a few comets visible over our evening skies in familiar constellations towards the end of the year up till March next year.
Anyone interested in going comet hunting ?

Really!?!? haha~ i always wanted to see a comet!!

but then can be seen in Spore with lotsa light pollutions???!!?

I lived during Halley's current return cycle and the only pic I saw was in the Straights times! Only hope that at least one of these comets don't disappoint.
How bright and spectacular they get depends on their composition and proximity to the sun. Astronomers mostly can't predict how each will look , so let's keep out fingers crossed.
BTW, there was an article recently in which it was stated we can still see a very faint Halley using a large observatory telescope on its way out of the solar system. Its currently somewhere just outside Pluto's orbit, if I recall correctly.

I'll look up the details, but I think both shouldn't be a problem in binoculars or a wide field Refractor.

Comet C/2002 T7 (LINEAR) will be in the vicinity of the Pinwheel Galaxy M33 just 4 days before Christmas at a visual mag 8.7

Don't expect a "huge nucleus with a long tail" though. Visually, most other comets resemble those smaller and fainter globular clusters or "fuzzy stars", but I think it's very thrilling just to be able to see one 8)

Hm, maybe we can collaborate with our Ubin trip "Old Bird" Charlie and go over there for the hunt
