low cost solution to get the coordinates for GOTO mount

Post by mySG_jy »

For those with a GOTO mount and without the expensive GPS module, here is a low cost way to solve the problem of getting the longitude and latitude.

I just got a bluetooth GPS Receiver retails at around S$129. it works with my PDA with a freeware GPSview v1.5. It helps me locate the coordinates within a short period of time, less than 1 minute.

Before i have this GPS receiver, i have been using the same coordinate in Singapore.

the pic on the left is the receiver, slightly smaller than a mobile phone. the left is O2 Atom.
