Jupiter 4 July 2007

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

Jupiter 4 July 2007

Post by JY »

Hi all,

I have not posted for quite some time ... here is my latest Jupiter from last night ...

LX200GPS 12"
Toucam
3x Televue Barlow
From balcony near Yio Chu Kang

The image is below and I am wondering what is happening near the Red Spot. All images I have seen on the web show a smooth "border" of the nearby festons.

Here I have quite a turbulent border ... I thought it could be an artefact from my processing aligning on the Red Spot ... I reprocessed aligning on the left circle of Jupiter, did not enhance the details, kept them smooth and that is the picture below.

Cheers

Jean-Yves
