Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

Woo Hooo... got an Astro-Physics Notification

Post by vhuang168 »

So I finally got my AP notification email.

But its for an AP1200 that I already got used. So I'll pass this opportunity off to anyone else here.

Let me know if you are interested. Basically you'll have to pay half up front then the remainder when the mount is ready to ship. Which should be in a month or so I think.

Do you mean that the AP1200 you ordered is ready for shipping?

I mean the AP1200 I ordered last year is now being made, so I have a choice of saying yes I want it or no I do not. But since I already have an AP1200 that I recently upgraded to CP3 I don't need the new one.

AND... AP makes a Hi-lo wedge that will allow the AP1200 to be polar aligned from latittudes of 0-22 or 69-90!!! Perfect mount for astrophotography, but a little overkill for the 8" your thinking about. But at least this way you'll be ready mountwise when you get a C14!!! :)

AP1200 is too overkill for my pocket. This is not a mount that a student can afford...

The pier is a Monolith from PWT.

Monolith Pier

Mine is from the last batch made and has been discontiuned. It was too expensive to make and took too long to assemble so he wasn't making enough of a margin.

The new pier from PWT called the Pinnacle is also fantastic. I almost bought one to use in the field.

Pinnacle Pier

The Monolith cost me about 6K USD because of some additional extras that I included (extension for long refractors, quick release knobs etc).
