Tak legs on GP base

Post by Meng Lee »

Hi,

Does anyone know if Takahashi legs FC-S fit GP tripod base? How long are the FC-S legs? And roughly how much is it?

That would be the width of the FC series tripods are the same? the difference between the FC-M and FC-S are just the length?

Tripod heights:

FC-S = 470-670mm
FC-M = 590-870mm
FC-L = 820-1330mm

Yes, it has been a great idea to upgrade the usual AL tripods of vixen GP/GPD mounts to the wooden type that Takahashi offers and it happens to fit the tripod base module well. Vixen do not make wooden tripods anymore, otherwise it would offer better dampening characteristics than current AL tripods. The Takahashi option would be an excellent alternative indeed.

FC-S will result in the tripod shorter than AL-90 and together with the modified tripod base that will not require the half pier anymore, what more can you ask for stability and portability! Hehe

Well, I have the SE-S tripod, I don't think it can fit the GP/SP mount or base without some modifications to the base.

If you are interested, I can let go of the tripod at good price and you can make an adapter to fit the base so as to fit GP mount.
