Mag. -7 Iridium flare on Fri 31 Aug 2007

Post by starfinder »

Here is a heads-up on a very bright Iridium satellite flare for observers in Singapore: magnitude -7.

Friday, 31 August, 2007
Time: 20:53:44
Altitude: 22 degrees
Azimuth: NNE (16 degrees)

Further details here:

It would be quite low in the sky (22 degrees) in the NNE, so hopefully our ever cooperative Clouds would have the due courtesy to stand aside for just the briefest moments. If anyone manages to photograph it, pls post it on this forum.

NOTE: the above bearing (NNE) is for an observer at Holland-Village (Singapore). The flare centre seems to be somewhere around the Clementi area. For your own location, pls visit the link above and modify as the bearing might be different.
