Post by vhuang168 »

TV just announced a 13% sale on all their EPs, EXCEPT the Ethos. Don't know if this applies to the Singapore dealer or not. If not, maybe you guess can pool together and other everything at 1 time to save on shipping. The sale will run for approx 13 weeks.

Hurry hurry... dun b afraid to KS!!

Hi Vincent
The Televue site does not have any info. You may want to post a link to where you saw this. If the interest is good, I suggest you open Mass Buy thread under buy-sell section.

BTW, all posters please refrain from using abbreviations unless they are common english ones such as i.e. because some of the old timers like me get confused :-) Can check what is KS?

Thanks...I thought so too but then it should have been "dun b afraid to be KS!! ".otherwise it will sound like Phua Chu Kang "don't pray pray"...

Some "old" people just become old and outdated (like me) while others stay young and trendy for forever (like Alan Tam)..haha...ok. I am going off topic here.

Personally after checking out their performance I prefer Pentax (and not because I am a Pentaxian !) lenses. Its not about the hard specs and all, just that the view through a Pentax XW somehow looks just a tad bit nicer...hard to describe it...have to blame Elton and rlow for this...haha

Hmm... I've been hearing a lot about the Pentax XWs. I had a look thru a very early Pentax ep but was not impressed. But have not had the chance to look through the new XWs. Maybe I should find one to check out.

Vincent,

You got to try. Personally, I prefer the XWs to the Naglers anytime. Not sure about the Ethos yet. ;P

I tried a pentax 7mm xw and a nagler t6 7mm side by side in one of the singastro star party..., and my experience is that the nagler is really sharper and brighter and higher contrast ( no offence to pentaxian )

i have experienced the XWs from the star parties in Australia and US, and against Naglers, found that the XWs have a generally more neutral colour tones. The Naglers were found to be warmer. When the XW10 was used with my Questar, the images were the sharpest and most contrasty that I have seen in any similar aperture scope. Perhaps it was the particular system combination that made this happen. It was also interesting to note that optical transmission characterised by high brightness was noted for the XWs and even the XLs. Thoroughly enjoyed the views through these Pentax eyepieces and they were competitively priced.

Whooo hooo.. .just got word from my local dealer that I can have an Ethos if I want one this Saturday!! I'm not on any pre order lists and was going to wait a bit before getting one. However, this dealer usually gives me a smoking deal so I'm sure it will be under retail by quite a bit!! I'll compare it to my 13NT6 and maybe I can borrow a P14XW to check out as well!!
