what can he do about Bush for peace and climate? Does his country adopted environmental friendly policies? I say it is still a long way for him and his country.

Agreed. If all it takes is a movie about global warming to get the Peace prize, let's all make movies too. Awareness, maybe, but awareness without a mind to want to change, in my opinion that's worse than not being aware at all..

do not underestimate the step change gole has achieved in changing the mindset of americans. they being the biggest consumer of almost eveything, are the ones that will have the biggest effect. how many singaporeans know about the peril of global warming? i'm sure most malaysians don't know enough. education is the first step, and arguably the most important, in bringing about changes to human behaviour.

There may always be instances where countries dont comply with what Al Gore is trying to achieve. It doesn't mean that if Bush dont work for peace and climate changes , he is not doing a good job.

In fact, many other countries are now adopting alternative energy sources and investing more on preventing global warming. We are starting to see solar farms being built in Japan , clean gas in Brazil. These are not usual 10 years ago !

What they are trying to achieve , is to create a greater awareness that there are many other workarounds other than the current method which is destroying Earth.

I never said Al Gore does a bad job. His motivation and his work are good but is that the end of the story? Nobel Prize if for great achievements, is his result an achievement or an attempt?

All this should be due responsibility of a politician from a country which produce the most weapon and waste, short change peace for democracy, environment for economy. He won the prize, that's fact but that is not achievements worth a Nobel Prize yet, that's my personal view.

Last year Peace Nobel prize winner helps many people to have a better life, I have not seen the true result of AL Gore's work yet.

If that's the standard, National Geography can get peace prize too and 881 can get a literature Nobel Prize for underworld liao.

i see your point in the argument. perhaps the peace prize is given more for "work in progress" rather than "lifetime achievement". just look at the peace laureates in the past couple of decades. a glaring example might be the one(two) given for peace in palestine...

i suspect i'll see national geographic gets a nobel peace prize in my life time... :)

I didn't know it was an urban legend, although I did watched the CNN interview and remembered I was laughing out loud then. He made an impression that he did invented it by saying that statement.
