But seriously, Nasa tracks the dust trail of many comets which is why they are able to predict many of the meteor showers. Their inference has to take into account the dynamic gravitational influence of the sun, planets and asteroids to establish where each stream is at any time. Hence tomorrow, Earht is expected to pass through the predicted position of Halley's dust trail...whether it results in a nice meteor shower we will have to see tomorrow...
