Possible Obs site - Jalan Lam Sam (CCK area)

Post by MooEy »

I did some recce earlier this morning. Was walking down brickland rd, the new road linking cck and bukit gombak. On the way back i decided to check out this canal linking rlow's place(bukit batok) and my place(cck near sunshine place).

Walking along this canal, i saw this bridge. Wide enough for those trucks to pass thru. Seems like quite alot of construction work is going on. Gravel roads were being pave out in the area.

Following the road is quite a few different options for obbing. All of them have enough vegetation blocking all sources of light, and enough clearing to see at least both side of the skies.

I was trying to find the source of all those trucks, if they can somehow come in, we can probably drive in. It seems that the area has at least 3 exits, one linking to bukit batok area, one going all the way towards the west and the last one which i'm betting on, cck area.

Following the path all the way, you would see quite a few intersections. More options for obbing, i eventually found my way out of the area, ended up at the heavy vehicle park at Jalan Lam Sam.

The entrance to this area is pretty much a gate, and a few pieces of those 1 ton blocks. There's a gd chance that it will be locked at night, so might not be able to drive. The roads are also uneven and soft at certain area. Once again, may not be safe to drive.

The site that i have eventually choose to recce in the night is actually a tundra-like area maybe 500m away from the gate. it's a little low lying, but the sparse vegetation suggest that it should be quite dry. Very good clearing that offers all 360 degree of the skies with very little obstruction. well shielded from street light too.

I have found a nice satellite pic of the area thru street directory via google. Considering to recce the area tonight again if weather holds up.

Look at the bottom left of the image. That's the area i'm intending to try out.

Please do! I hope the trucks don't knock down our equipment!

Arr...

This place reminds me of my army days... During that time, we used to train there and normally will stay overnight. It's relatively dark in most of the places.

I remember near the entrance of the training ground, there's a little hut and a few people are living inside. Didn't get to explore much of that place as I was to tired!

That place produces good durians too! :P
