Urgent Help Needed: Live Streaming using HomePlug

Post by kayheem »

Hi all,

Is there any way to transmit live audio/video signals from a videocam using a HomePlug (power over ethernet) to a receiver to be shown on a TV monitor?

Please let me know soon!

Thanks!

HomePlug (power over ethernet)
You mean ethernet over powerline?

Both sides (videocam and receiver) must be IP-based (i.e. they have 10/100 eth port that can be assigned with IP address), then it should work. Physical layers (either over powerline or UTP cable) are transparent, as long as they adhere to ethernet standards.

Hi Arief,

Do you have a specific make/model or retail shop to buy such a device?

Thanks!

Hi Robin,

I do have the HomePlug already. I am looking for the device that can transmit video and audio signals through the HomePlug.

For the videocam side, you can actually use any IP-based webcams (make sure it can support both video and audio) from SLS or Funan (http://www.networkcamerareviews.com, axis is the market leader i think), the receiver side will be a PC with PC monitor.

If really must connect to TV then you must use something like this as the receiver: http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-Interfa ... B000A6PC1G (cannot use any IP camera with this, though).
