East Coast Park Stargazing this Saturday?
East Coast Park Stargazing this Saturday?
Just a check to see if anyone is keen to have stargazing this coming Saturday (9th Feb) in lieu of the long weekend, at East Coast Park? Location can be similar to previous sessions, around the open field next to the beach opposite Victoria JC....
yes the location is at the open grass field next to the beach, and is located between carpark C4 and D1. For those coming for the first time, you may take a look at the reference post in

The location is the same. However, the weather has turned intermittently cloudy lately. Please check the forum or call me at 82333798 if it is still on, tomorrow. I will post tomorrow in this thread again at 4PM to see if the weather is completely fine enough for green light. If it is on, should be there by 7:30PM. Will either bring the 5-inch refractor, or 3-inch.
Seeya!

just a quick note on yesterday's session:
weather was not too ideal to start with, with general expanse of thin clouds, only the brightest stars could be seen. nevertheless, quite a number turned up: Vincent and son, James, Mooey, Jinpeng, Lynn, Michael, Yvonne, Kelvin, etc. There were a couple of scopes present too, ranging from 8-inch SCT, 8-inch Newt, 4 and 5-inch refractors. Manage to see typical objects like Mars, the 'thinning' Saturn, M42, and some clusters. Most of the other times, we spent catching up and chatting, plus some equipment transactions. Would also agree with Vincent, that we should try to have more sessions there in the future!

Was not able to make it. Do share some photos of the event and the obligatory telescopes "roll of honour" if the sky have not been good or a detailed report if it was still passable! BTW, you're not talking about vincent snr right?
