Stargazing Session This Saturday at Marine Parade CC

Helping Jin Peng to publicize this event held by the Marine Parade CC. Jin Peng is the current president of the MPCC Astronomical Society, and they will be organising a public stargazing event this coming Saturday (23rd Feb) at the CC's roof top premises. Please feel free to drop by at 7PM onwards. Note that the CC will close it's premises by 10PM. Do register at the MPCC's office before going up. See you there!

heh, do note that 24th is saturn opposition. 23rd will be a nice day for a small gathering and some fun on saturn. i will be going down with my p8, see u guys there.

At 9.45pm, Saturn will still be quite low in the sky. Will probably go elsewhere later in the evening for saturn watch.

Hi swimaniac,
Do bring your telescope along, we can cater a few more telescope at the rooftop for public viewing.

For directions:

By MRT
Eunos Station, turn left from the control station and walk pass the market and come to Jalan Eunos Road, walk to the opposite bus stop and transfer to bus 966 or 15.

By Car (Shortest Route)
From ECP
Exit via Marine Parade(Exit 10B)
From Still Road South
Turn left into Marine Parade CC (drop-pff/pick up point)

By Bus
Along Marine Parade Road
13,15,16,31,43,48,76,135,196,197
Along Still Road South
55,966

For Driver to park their car,
you can exit from the cc and turn left into marine drive, there will be carpark available.
(walking distance to the cc)

Marine parade cc is the one that has this display of running and starbucks ? :roll: 10pm is a wee bit too early to close for an astro event that should in cc's signature "do it all night long"

ok...i printed the poster. will put it up in my office notice board and see who turns up....

it seems that the CC has to close its premises by that time. We can always adjourn to neighboring ECP if everyone's not tired after that. I have been to the roof top before. There is enough space for a dozen scopes or more. Do bring! Will cycle there....
