Konus MotorMax 150 - 6" Maksutov Cassegrain Telescope

Post by weixing »

Hi,
A new 6" MCT from Konus. Below is the link:
http://www.digitecoptical.com/tele-konus_maks_1798.htm

I think this 6" MCT is the latest Synta product. It got a 1800mm focal length (f12) and come with a Konus EM10 EQ mount or simply the Synta EQ5 mount (note that the north is between the tripod leg which is same with all Synta EQ mount) with dual axis drive. The best part is that it only sell at US$799 or around S$1400....

The only question now is how good is the optics and the performance of the mount??? :?: :?:

Anyway, just wonder when our local vendor will introduce this new scope and what will be the price??

Have a nice day.

PS: Look at the Konus MotorMax-130: http://www.digitecoptical.com/tele-konus_maks_1797.htm
It's look and got the same specification with the APM-130... may be this is the same scope?? Just wonder: Is SunLong Optical = Synta?? :?:

Pretty certain SunLong is not Synta but I guess APM-130 = SunLong!! Haven't found any reviews about the scope but seems like its an absolutely fantastic deal for US$554 at http://www.digitecoptical.com/tele-konus_maks_1797.htm !!!!!!!!

Hi,
My guess is that the Konus MOTORMAX-90HM and MOTORMAX-130HM is from SunLong, but not the MOTORMAX-150HM. Because both Konus MOTORMAX-90HM and MOTORMAX-130HM got the flip mirror system, but the Konus MOTORMAX-150HM do not have it. Or just may be the flip mirror system is not very popular, so the new MOTORMAX-150HM do not have it... :?:

Anyway, this is the Konus Home website: http://www.konus.com

Have a nice day.

How heavy is that thing? ... A check with Adrorama puts another US$400 to shipping charges. The 130mm edition only puts another US$262 to the shipping charges.

That Equipment must be pretty heavy :). Add another US$400 to your $800, it would be about $1200 US$ or Approx $2035 ..... u do have to take shipping into consideration :).

Notice in the Product Detail, it was stated as it is selling for $819 and not $799

hey weixing, are you looking to buy a new scope? just asking cause if your considering buying the konus MCT, its slow focal ratio might hamper your astrophotography efforts. (in deep sky i mean) looking at your recent GP mount purchase i'm just guessing that thats where alot of your interest is in.

Hi,
I'm not intending to get another MCT, in fact, I'm now looking for a buyer for my ViewMax 127 OTA, so that I can get a 6" F5 reflector.

I post the above Konus scope information is to share with all of us what "cheap and good(??)" scope that is available... :) May be I should post it after I sell my ViewMax 127 OTA... ha ha :D

Have a nice day.
