Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

In our warm and humid weather, optics will acquire fungal growth in no time if not kept in a dry environment. I made this DIY case as my scopes are too big to fit into any of the commercially available ones. :)

The frame of the box is made from wooden strips I bought from Daiso; these are softwood and very easy to cut and nail. The sides are made from those plastic sheets used for wrapping books. The dehumidifier I bought from Home-Fix. Total cost is about $120 of which the dehumidifier accounted for $100. iRobot helped me with its construction...

no lah, its juz a vacuum cleaner... :)

Is that a Olee de humidifier? If yes, how often do you need to pour away the water in the tray?

Yup that's correct. Every 3-4 days if I leave it running continuously... humidity inside the box is about 55-60%.

May be we can approach DigiHub and ask how much is the 5W dehumidifier for DigiCabi. With the electronic stuff it will be maintenance free.

ACC, look likes you just place your equipment on the floor and cover up with the DIY box, doesn't look like there is a door. If so, I suggest you add rubber trimming or something similar to block up the gap between the box and the floor.

would't it be neater if you just buy one of those super large tupperware type boxes or laundry basket instead ? it will be sturdier too...
Of course in that option you don't get the satisfaction of building a greenhouse by hand! [smilie=bye2.gif]

The tupperware type boxes may have been a little small for his portaball.
