Celestron Nexstar 114GT

hi is the Celestron Nexstar 114GT a decent telescope for a beginner like me? i am interested in it's Goto system which i thought will help me alot in finding the objects i want. What do u guys think about it? is it worth it? or is other Nexstar models better? or can anyone recommend me something similar but from other brands? thanks =D

After further research i have decided to that it is better to get a Celestron NexStar 114 SLT Telescope.
Amazon is selling it at 399USD which roughly translates to $558.60
(current exchange rate is 1.35SGD to 1USD. But i took it as 1.4SGD cuz it's gonna take me some months to save up so dunno if exchange rate will go up)
vpost cost is about $124.67(using uob credit card 12% discount)

Total $683.10

What do you guys think? Is the scope a good one? A check from astro scientific shows that the same thing sells for abt 1000 plus plus. Ripoff.

I have no experience with the OTA though it does look like a reasonably good scope. The Goto should work as intended. Have you been able to find any reviews of this scope on cloudynights or other websites? While saving up, do check out the buy n' sell forums regularly cos' good deals do come by frequently. For vpost, make sure that u have taken into account the volumetric weight of the packaging, cos' usually the boxes are rather big and u may end up with a higher than expected shipping cost.
