Cheers to more good years in astronomy!

Post by rcj »

Hi all,

As A2008 draws to a close, it also marks a time where all like-minded astronomy enthusiasts make new friends and also catch up with old friends. Hopefully, all those that have joined and participated in previous SINGASTRO public events, will come again and support this once-in-a-lifetime event, organised not just for the education of astronomy and practical observing/imaging, but also a celebration of the tireless achievements of passionate individuals in this wonderful hobby. A2008 will not forget those that have dedicated most of their time to this pursuit. Please do not forget to join us during such an instance (The Astronomy Tribute Award) that will highlight and remember the achievements of one such individual, Mr Au. It will be held just before the closing ceremonies at 5PM on Saturday. On another personal note, it would probably be my last organization of a public astronomy event, as I will be leaving the country in pursuit of work in Australia for an extended period, two weeks after A2008. You can have my word that A2008 will be an unforgettable event, both for the newbie and the veteran. To those who are thinking of organising activities for the International Year of Astronomy in 2009, you have my fullest support. I can still be contactable through my email address at remuscj at yahoo dot com. And if you are planning a visit to Australia, perhaps we can meet again and even have some stargazing.

Cheers!

Remus, you mean you are leaving us to join Barry down under?

If you can't bring all your refractors with you, I can help you keep them in my dry box and make sure they are put to good use. :mryellow:
