Yesterday was quite a great night, except for a big celestial torchlight blocking a part of the sky. People who went yesterday were Richard (rlow) and his wife, David and Willie, Clifford, Fungling and me. The ob ended at about 12:30am.
Just a list of objects we saw: Andromeda Galaxy, Double cluster at Cassiopeia, Albireo in Cygnus, Pleaides, and (oooh!) Orion Nebula again! We also attempted the North American Nebula, but with the Moon in the region I wasn't sure if we really observed any nebulosity.
The sky was so good that we could resolve Pleaides naked eye in spite of the Moon. Clifford saw 6, I saw 3 stars.
David's 6" Skywatcher refractor was great! With such a wide field, it could capture Pleaides in full view, and the double cluster too. In fact when the double cluster was magnified and framed into a 1deg fov I like it less than I did the wide field view.
Time to start flipping out the Northern sky charts again!

Hi,
Yesterday night was not so clear in Tampines... lots of "fly-by" cloud and seeing was very bad... can easily see the turbulence easily when looking at the Moon and Jupiter. Also, the light pollution was very serious at my usual observation site... thanks to the 24hrs, 6 days a week construction site directly opposite my site
Anyway, base on the speed of construction, the new building might be completed by next year this time or earlier... hope the building itself don't generate as much light pollution.
By the way, I also counted Pleiades before I went to sleep... 6 stars counted.
Have a nice day.

Darn, how I wish I could join you guys last night. I was obbing at home, and I saw andromeda galaxy (well, my 3rd time in the past 2 weeks) through my binoculars, as well as pleiades. I have no interest for the double cluster cause it doesn't look as magnificent on my binoculars than on a scope. Tried to count the stars in pleiades and saw around 2~3 stars. My specs really needs to be changed, have been using 150/200 for a while now and I think it isn't giving me a sharp view anymore.
For me, my North had some flyby clouds during 10pm, but around 11~12 it was clear, although moon caused some stars not to be seen. Man, I missed the chance to take a look at M31 and the Orion Nebula through a scope. Oh well, I'll only be able to join you guys after my Os, hope the skies will be clear then! ^_^
