haha ok .. i am bored.. so took a screenshot of the stellarium simulating the up coming total solar eclipse in china. this screenshot was taken with location setting to shanghai at 0939am on the 22nd of july.
as a side note, would like to check how many of us are interested to go for the eclipse trip next year??
also please note that there would be a annular solar eclipse visible in singapore on the come coming 26th of january. on the actual day of chinese new year. anyone interested ?

It seems like we'll be able to catch both solar eclipses in 2009! I checked the Science Centre website and they listed out full list of dates which Singapore will be able to see solar eclipses.
We'll be able to catch them both, although I do not know whether we'll only be able to see a partial eclipse or the full eclipse from our location. No need to travel for the eclipse (can't afford either), YAY!!
Well, from Singapore, you will see a Solar Eclipse, but not a Total Solar Eclipse, I'm afraid.
According to the data from NASA (Click here), you should be able to see about 20% of the Sun being eclipsed.
Well, better than nothing!

I'd be interested to take a shot at the jul 22 eclipse next year. The plus point is that the totality track will pass through a number of cities in Asia, so there are more choices location-wise. Not sure about the weather prospects though. Is anyone planning an eclipse trip?
eah the july 22nd nx year July would be in CHINA. we could plan for the trip to china next july, but will have to first get the response as in how many are interested to go ?
