Hi William, is it really 300mm, any typo?
Great shot, so much details within the Nebulous, and and must have crop it out a lot for such a large image. Trapezium is clearly resolved.
For Nikon ED lens, the blue fringe on stars in not characteristic.
In any case, one of the best M42 i have seen :)

Hi, typo mean what?
The lens is very old, not manage to correct the color already...

O i c , Typo ...means " typing mistake " i thot you need at least a 600mm scope to resolve the resolution of the M42 you took.
Anyway, it is a great shot :)

Ar yes, this picture really shot with 300mm lens. I cropped it out. Otherwise, the nebula looks so small....
