Red Moon in Singapore

[color=#] [/colo[align=justify]r]yesterday about 2230, was at EastCoast Park (near the Lilliput area) and i swear i saw the moon rising up. what was puzzling me is that it's red in colour(looks like red omega ). the clouds were hiding it away.

I am new in this arena and really realy would wan to know what this means?

It means that there is a very severe level of light polution.Dust particles disperse blue light and allow red light to go thr in general and the more dust the more light dispersed.When the moon is near the horizon its light tranverse a thicker layer of atm and so more dispersion.Hence the more dust the redder the moon is.Our polution is now so bad that if you go out to look at the sky at night ,the sky seem to be covered by a layer of silk! and if you observe the planet when its near the horizon--during setting or rising--you will be able to see it in CHANGING COLOURS FROM EDGE TO EDGE!Try it if you have a telescope!Thanks

solly but i think it's not just "air pollution". i saw the full moon rising when diving from an liveaboard in great barrier reef more than 10 years ago. it was blood red and it freaked me out because i wasn't an astronomer then, but a young kid who was taught some funny ideas growing up...
