ulu pandan observing session 14-3-04

Post by dew »

yup i was out that night too.. so happy to finally see a clear night after so many days of rain and bright pink clouds. seeing was not too good though, at 200X the image looked soft and i saw alot more detail on jupiter at lower powers..
anyway thought i would post my processed pic of jupiter from last night, the first time i have been able to make a serious attempt on it. results were not as good as i had hoped, you can see some detail within the bands but the colour is rather strange.. and after processing this thin green ring appeared around the planet.. its abit faint but if you look carefully you ought to be able to spot it.. anyone know how that appeared?

Hi,
You can post the image in your personal gallery or in the album and make a link to it.

Have a nice day.

i didnt take it out that night (the 14th) but i did take it out to my balcony for awhile last night to look at omega centauri.. i think i spelled that wrong. hmm.. anyway i havent been able to test it out properly.. i still havent bought the tube rings from you! ill get round to measuring the diameter soon.. and also theres a problem with my diagonal and so i can only view straight through which makes it a really big pain to observe especially since the 80mm ED is rather long.. will post updates once i can get all those issues settled..
