hi there good people! im an average guy with a sudden interest in astronomy. n im looking to buy a good telescope with a budget of $600-$700. if possible, i want it to be equip with a GoTo, Motorized Altazimuth n etc. (still not quite clear bout the specs though!) could someone tell what i should be lookin' for n where in singapore!? really appreciate it, thanx!

i've checked through the internet n found a few websites on telescopes. n im especially interested in the ones at SSC. but it would really be of great help if i was to know what im purchasin'...i mean the specs of the telescopes n so on n so forth. i could try askin' the staffs there but i preffered more reviews before buyin' one.... welcome to singastro. Do join in the Tiong Bahru session to have a look at scope and talk to their proud and dedicated owners!
After that, you can opt to buy your scopes from our classified section otr from out vendors. Seriously your budget is sufficient to get yourself a decent scope as prices have come down a lot for entry level scopes. Your budget may even buy you a second hand ED scope.

You can look around websites and see the reviews and comments on the telescope. I suggest you go down to ssc to have a look. You can also ask the experts in Singastro they will be a great help (: Anyway it concerns what do you wanna see in the sky, your budget, portability etc. Enjoy! [smilie=cheer.gif]

thanx guyz for ur help! now that i've got ur infos on equipments, all thats left is to finish up readin' books on stargazing n astronomy which i've juz borrowed from the library...appreciate all the help. [smilie=victory.gif]
