Hi there,

Where do you live. If you live in the east, you can join Weixing for his obs at the grass patch next to the Tampines swimming pool. In the mean time, you can read up more info in singastro wiki pages.

welcome to singastro, but as a newbie, the above shouldn't be the first thing you ask.

Before you go into scopes, more importantly is to get to know the people via obervations, get to know some basics of the sky and finally touch and feel some of the telescopes in Singapore first through some observations that you can join.

Buying scopes is not like buying a car. Cars do come with various brand and features and capacity, etc, etc but end of the day, it still comes with 4 rubber wheels and a spare tire.

Scopes come in various forms and shapes, some comes with lens but some comes with mirrors and to make it more complicated, some come with both lens and mirrors. Unless you know exactly what you want from your scope, I gurantee you will put it up for sale in 2 months or less. Even the seniors fall into this trap all the time.

So don't worry about the scope. Enjoy get to know the people, enjoy rummaging other people's scope and enjoy learning the stars above. When you had done all these, the answer of which scope you need will become super clear to you.
