Greetings from the United Kingdom

Post by Jeremy »

Greetings to my dear friends in Singastro!

At last I have settled into my new home in the UK. We are living in a small village not too far from the ancient city of Chester (which is about 1 hour from Manchester). A couple of days ago the removal company delivered my telescopes and am I glad to say they survived the shipment from Singapore and 3 months of storage. I am now looking forward to starting to observe again. I was strange resetting the GPDX mount from 1 degree north to 53 deg N (looks very odd at that angle, too!).

I am keen to see what has been happening in Singastro since I left. Judging my the posting on the various web sites, you are all as busy as ever. I must admit to getting withdrawal symptoms from Mersing.

All the best with all your astro endeavours.

Best regards and go well!

Glad you se that you and your telescope is well and good to go. Any photos of how odd your scope look like at that angle? Do post some of them here for us to view at. Post photos of your current residential too. Guess you have to change the location in your profile to chester, uk.

Best of luck.

Nice to see you again here Jeremy. And don't miss our southern skies but if you do, just come back. Would welcome you back with open arms.... :D

Hi Jeremy,
What a coincidence, I was wondering what happened to you last week and if you will ever link up with singastro again!
Glad to hear you have settled down. Skies have been "bloody" cloudy here as you brits like to say. I'm waiting for the traditionally clearer skies in May-Jul period. Hoping to have an opportunity to check out the 2 comets.
Since I went into astronomy, I have yet to catch one!

Can't wait for you to start taking some pics of them and posting them here!

Cheerio, old chap!
