i didnt know a 70-200/2.8 lens can take Deep sky objects :)

may i know what is the mean of lights 11x180? 11 frames at 180secs each ? and also what is darks?
I miss the place where stars shine bright, to gaze upwards in awe of the sight

Initially neither do I. From my wild bird photography days I have over the years collect quite a number of fast lenses and supertelephotos . It would be a shame to sell them at a discount and buy telescopes when their purpose is similar.

So armed with many DSLR bodies and lenses I trawl the web and found

1. here

2. here

3. here

Another advantage is the Auto Focus. I usually AF on the brightest star and slew to object of interest. However Live view focussing has somewhat reduce this benefit.

So for objects which requires focal lengths of up to 1000mm I use camera lenses otherwise I use a C8 . ED80 and equinox 66 telescopes are my autoguider scopes.

Off course Remus will tell you I cannot do CCD astrophotography [smilie=blocked.gif]

BTW Canon has a zoom 70-200mm f2.8 and also a 200mm f2.8 prime. Both are equally good.

For Lights and Darks etc click here . I cannot explain better.

Yes 11X180sec do mean 11 frames each at 180 sec.
