Post by weixing »

Hi,
Plan to have the Sidewalk Astronomy observation session at Marina Barrage on next week Saturday, 27 March 2010. That day is also the Earth Hour 2010. Time will be around 8pm to 10pm.

Anyone interested to join in??

Have a nice day.

Hmmm... if only we can persuade Nparks to switch off the lamp-post lights during earth hour too!

Will drop by with 152, now with upgraded focuser & new tube rings.

Yeah... someone else had wanted to see this again for quite some time, so I thought it is a good time to bring it along.

Hi,
Since it's Earth Hour that day, someone suggest to me that may be we can go to the Marina Barrage instead. I think it's a good idea as we can see the different when the lights when off!

Any objection??

Have a nice day.

marina barrage is ok ..but do take note of the shuttle bus timings, for those not driving..

The shuttle bus service will run between Marina Bay MRT Station and Marina Barrage.

The operating hours of the shuttle bus is as stated:

Monday to Friday: 8.30am- 7.15pm
Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays: 9.00am- 9.00pm :)

Yeah, we should have a great panoramic view of the S'pore skyline, that's a good opportunity to take photos of 'before' and 'after' the light are switched off.

I have space for 3 persons if anyone wants to take a lift.

Hi,
OK... Since no objection, we'll change to the Marina Barrage. There are two bus there:
1. Marina Barrage Shuttle Bus (Sat/Sun: 09:05 - 20:55)
2. SBS Bus Service 400 (Sat/Sun: 09:15 - 23:44)

Below link for more details on the bus schedule:
