Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, East Java, Indonesia.

Some of the lovely places which are so nearby for trek and hiking expeditions!
Those were the days when I used to help out.

Beautiful images Tachyon! How was the 'ole' volcano??
My wife never complained about how much time, effort & money I spent on my Astronomy hobby!................suddenly I met her!!!

Hi Airconvent! Just visiting the Federation HQ. Heh..

Gary and Clifford60 - Thank you for looking.

mch3898 - timatworksg has already answered your question. The volcano is not very difficult. You can hire and horse ride across the 'Sea of Sands' and then walk up 100 steps to the rim of the crater. Up there you can look into the mouth of the volcano:

@timatworksg and tachyon

Thanks for pointing the direction to Mt Bromo. Will check it out as a possible holiday destination. But getting up there in the dark? You are one brave soul.

The Magellanic Clouds are beautifully juxtaposed with the mountains.

Cheers and a cloud-free sky to you,
Christopher

I've been thinking of getting this Bromo+Semeru+SMC/LMC shot for a long time and you made it before me man~

P.S. You upgraded to 1D Mark IV?. Noise performance looks really good.
Clear skies please...
