CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

Yea. It was clear there. Cloudy around mid early morning for a while and then clear up a bit when Venus rises.

Hi Gary
That red cloud in your first photo looked like a nebula! Maybe its the MMC (Medium Magellanic Cloud)... [smilie=admire2.gif]
BTW, the sky at zenith is very clear tonight! [smilie=cool.gif]

It's SMC actually - Singapore Magellanic Cloud. Spent most of my photoshoping time to enhance its nebulosity but the rest of the stars are spoiling my shot. LOL. :)

Hi Gary,

The photos are nice, especially the ones on Orion and Big Dipper.

May I know around what time you took them? :P

Btw, who was the handsome pointing up at Big D? [smilie=uhuhuh.gif]

@stargazer: Thanks for your encouragement! Still looks fake. But then I only started reading a few pages of Astronomy Photoshop.

Orion = 12 Dec 2010 23:24:17

Venus and Saturn = 13 Dec 2010 06:12:35

Human Lightning Rod = 13 Dec 2010 06:15:26

Yeah. Many people say I have a sexy back. [smilie=vomiting.gif] LOL. Luckily nobody call Woodbridge when they saw me standing still there in that pose for 15 seconds after making a 10 second dash from my camera to that location. [smilie=victory.gif]

Personally, I thought I should like the dipper shot most. But I like Venus shot most after photoshoping. The change from orange to dark blue sky and clouds give a lot interesting contrast to look at. But nothing beats watching them live in the sky.
