Couldn't sleep so decided to fool around with some AP on Friday night into Saturday morning. Only managed to grab several 30s subs as it was pretty hazy. Wished I could grab 60s subs but the haze didn't help exposures. Not the best but just sharing it here to show whats possible through those clouds! Didn't spend much time on the processing,...sorry. Just a quick dirty stack and levels adjustments.

- WO88FD+Starshoot DSCI/Baader 10x60+DSI/PHD/20x30s subs/MaxIm/CS3

One of my favourite objects especially from an 18" scope with a bino viewer and 3D effect thrown in! Nice one Tim! [smilie=cheer.gif]

Thanks guys! Even with the Haze the cotton ball appearance is clear! This Globular is easy to spot being bright and big! Gonna image this again when the nights are clearer...since 30s subs gave me this, can't wait to add more 60s/180s subs and layer them! For now this will do.

@Wee Ern: Forgot to buy 'D' batteries lah! So couldn't test the SynGuider..lol! Duh...most of my battery stock is 'AA' or 'AAA' ! Hopefully during these next few nights (seems getting better) I can finally give it a full test run on the Vario Finder!

Will admit, this Globular looks great in an 8" SCT, can't imagine the splendor with something larger and with Bino view!! Envy you Airconvent...haha! Must have been a wonderful sight!!

It is always good to see southern beauties like this. I am so sad , with my set up, I cannot see south. I really miss Eta Carina & Omega Centauri ....

Thanks Kochu...I know what you mean. Orion, Andromedia, Pleides have all passed my Balcony window and heading West in your direction! When the monsoon hit, these beauties were at their peak...and now with better skies, they have passed me...sigh** Have yet to attempt Eta Carina...but need it to clear a street lamp and before 3am!

Nice view of Omega Centauri , something I can see with my binoculars
even in suboptimal conditions since it is quite big [smilie=good-job.gif]
