Cloud and Seeing Filter (seriously)

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

Cloud and Seeing Filter (seriously)

Post by cloud_cover »

Was browsing online since I sold off my mount hence don't have a photo setup anymore, found this interesting site.

www.lightbuckets.com

Not exactly a filter but another way of avoiding clouds and poor seeing is to physically, or remotely move to a dark, dry location.

No doubt it is not your own equipment, nor is there any DIY component beyond selecting the target and imaging plan but it is one way we mere mortals without millions to blow can access top-end equipment.

I haven't tried it, any of you guys have opinions? :)

Ask Tachyon (Andrew), he did it a number of times this kind of remote access .
