Observation trip to Kahang Eco-farm

FYI, I will be heading up to the Kahang Eco Farm next Sat (30th July), returning Sunday late morning.

Taking a coach at 12pm from Golden Mile Complex Beach Road to Kluang (Five Star Coach, can book online, $18). I would then join Robin at Kluang to proceed to the Kahang farm (if he is in M'sia) or I would take a taxi from Kluang (RM60 each way).

My main objective, apart from simply seeing the whole scene of stars (weather permitting) would be to try my hand at wide field time-lapse photography. Got a used Canon 10-22mm today.

Will probably also bring a 80mm apo.

We can then compare experiences with those heading to Telok Sari at the same time.


BTW, from what I read, end-July is a fairly good time for meteors (esp after midnight), since apart from the relatively faint southern Delta Aquariids (peaking then), there would also be some early Perseid activity (Perseids run from July 17-Aug 24, and peak on Aug 12 but that's near full moon time). And then there are the usual sporadics too.
