Have a nice day.

Hi Weixing,
Good luck on your session in Tampines. It's all cloudy here in Toa Payoh so I don't think I can activate in my area.
Anyway, try to search for the Bug Nebula with your 6 incher ok ?
.
I'm really curious to know at what aperture would the Bug Nebula be visually visible here in Singapore.
Clear Skies !

Is there any blk no:?
I also hope I can see it.... but I'm still waiting for my UHC filter... ha ha...Anyway, try to search for the Bug Nebula with your 6 incher ok ? .

Suddenly everyone is interested in the Bug Nebula
I wonder if I can see it on an 80mm refractor or the ETX105 here in Singapore? Will the narrow band filter really help?
Anyway, good luck on your session if its still on...100% cloud cover in hougang!

Hi,
The sky was cover with cloud at 20:00, but the cloud start to break up at around 21:00. The sky was quite clear until 23:45 when the cloud start to roll in again. This is when "nature call" happen, so have to packup and go.... After I packup, the cloud start to break up and the stars is back.
Anyway, my main objective for tonight is try to mount and balance the 80mm short tube on my 6" Newtonian, but too bad the "interface" got some problem...
By the way, I think I "see" the Bug Nebula, but it is very dim, faint and fuzzy that I can't really sure... I think I will try again once I get my UHC filter... hope it will help...
Have a nice day.

Have a nice day.
That's what I noticed as well which is why I did not go observing tonight.
BTW, if you have problems attaching your 80mm guide scope, I suggest you talk to the master of attachment, Wira. He's the only guy I know who has used a Takahashi 102mm as a finder on his Meade LX200!
As for the bug, seems like Sam had clarified that its no different from the Ring Nebula. It will appear as a dot much like a star at low magnification....
That means its out of an 80mm refractor's grasp. (I tried to look for the Ring in mersing but all I saw was star dots in my FOV.)

Hi,

Have a nice day.
I'm not using the 80mm to see it... I'm using my 6" Newtonian. I just now also observe the Ring Nebula for very long time... it is very obvious in my 6" Newtonian and can be see using direct vision at 107x... a very cute donut..That means its out of an 80mm refractor's grasp. (I tried to look for the Ring in mersing but all I saw was star dots in my FOV.)

Have a nice day.
